Type-2 consistency status = failed

Here’s something you can come accross. When you do a “sh vpc“, you’ll notice that your Type-2 consistency status is failed on both Cisco Nexus 7000’s (I’m running dual 7010’s).

FL-C1-EXTERNAL# sh vpc -

To see what’s causing this run the command “show vpc consistency-parameters global“.

Type-2 errors like this are usually configuration mismatches.

Some things to look for:
Missing SVIs
SVI State is down and they should all be UP/UP
VLAN(s) not allowed over peer link

FL-C1-EXTERNAL# show vpc consistency-parameters global

As you can see from the output, my issue is with VLAN 10. I was doing testing with VLAN 10 on the A Switch and never configured anything on the B Switch. Once I deleted the SVI for VLAN 10 on A, the status went to success. I also removed VLAN 1 since it’s not in use.
